Our society today stresses "our right to choose," but we have not balanced this with the message that every choice has a consequence, whether good or bad. This is especially true regarding how the world deals with lust, selfishness, and many other things.

The consequences of some of our choices are more deadly than others. For example, King David had a choice to make regarding Bathsheba. He could either take her and have Uriah her husband killed in the war or he could have packed up his bags like his army and been out with them as he should have been. What was the consequence of his actions?

  1. The sword never left his home which was continually plagued by violence

  2. Adversity against him in his home

  3. Death of the baby Bathsheba was carrying

When we rebel against God, we choose our own way ultimately leading us down a path of destruction that leads straight to hell. But because of God's loving kindness toward humanity, we are given time to REPENT or change our minds. While we may think that we are getting away with sin because there is no immediate consequence. The fact is that everything we do whether it is good or bad brings us a harvest.

The wonderful thing about God is that He has given us something that will keep us on track and that is the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4). When we are actively working to "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ"(Phil 2:5), a metamorphosis takes place when we are no longer guided by the desires of the flesh, but we are now following the one who gives wisdom, clarity, and direction. We have to allow the Holy Spirit to do His job, but remember, you have to make that choice daily and it is not easy. But I know from experience that if we yield to Him we will always make the right choice and we will reap the harvest of that decision.

I pray this blesses you, if it does please share it with a friend.
