Word At Work House of Refuge is a Christian church located in Columbus, Ohio that is dedicated to promoting the Kingdom of God and spreading the Gospel through worship, prayer, and fellowship.

David C. Peppers, Jr. affectionately known as (Pastor David) is a native of Columbus, Ohio where he grew up in a family that was built around the foundations of the Word of God. He received the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at the ripe age of 13. Being saved at such an early age was a challenge, he was not trained during the early years, which allowed him to stray. Due to this his heart's desire now is to ensure that all those who come to accept Christ into their lives have an appropriate foundation and discipling to carry them into their destiny no matter what age they are.
Pastor David has earned his associate degree in Pastoral Studies from Ohio Christian University and attended the Young Preachers Institute in Columbus, Ohio. Pastor David has served in ministry for over 25 years and has sat under some great men who have assisted in preparing him for his current function as Lead Pastor at Word at Work House of Refuge where he serves under Pastor’s Michael and Shirley Peebles. Among those are Bishop Dane Clark of Bethel Temple Apostolic Church, Apostle Patrick J Brown, and Bishop Brian Keith Williams have instilled Godly values and laid a solid foundation in the Word of God that has helped him mature into the man of God he is today. He has had the opportunity to travel overseas sharing the gospel in Cambodia in 2023.
While pastoring The Father’s Heart International church beginning as the interim pastor in May of 2015 and becoming the senior pastor in June of 2016. Pastor David had the privilege of meeting Pastor Mike & Shirley Peebles and what started out as just a conversation led to the two joining forces and after much prayer and seeking God for wisdom they combined ministries in November of 2018. As pastor David submitted to the seasoned pastor Mike in obedience. God began to show favor and as the two grew in relationship together no one outside of the ministry except for a few knew what was brewing. On June 4th 2023 Pastor David successfully took over the reins as Sr. Pastor along with his wife of 25 years Elder Aleica and they are moving and seeing the manifestations of God weekly.
Pastor David and Elder Alecia also have three wonderful children Kyra, Travon, and Korin and two grandchildren Dakota and Meiko whom they love dearly. Their joy is seeing their children grow into the young adults that God intended them to be.
